Below is a poem written written in honor of Phillip Smith by his loving niece (Twila's Daughter):
When we start to miss him and our hearts begin to cry
Look up in the skies and remember Philip's clear blue loving eyes
Family and God were top upon his list
He loved with such a passion most of us can only wish
His smile held such sweetness, his dimples big as dimes
You may never even notice mischief wasn't far behind
Never was a gathering, dinner, or fish fry
When Uncledaddy didn't make us giggle til we'd nearly cry
He lived his life with a joke up his shirt sleeve
Let's think of this and cut a smile while we grieve.
